National Friends of Libraries Week

EDITOR:

The Escanaba Public Library gets by with a little help from our Friends… actually; we get by with a lot of help from our Friends. Established in 1988, our Friends work under the radar, dig deep and give generously throughout each year, taking pride in giving back to the community. The Friends help the library to extend its reach and enhance its services beyond what is possible in the library budget by sponsoring a year-round calendar of free arts and cultural events, promoting community outreach, supporting quality collections, enabling facility improvements and much more.

This year, we celebrate the 15th Annual National Friends of Libraries Week, October 18 – 24, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no better time to thank the Friends for sustaining the library, providing virtual tools and resources, supporting staff and renewing their commitment to make the Escanaba Public Library shine through good times and bad.

Please join us in saying thank you to our Friends and consider becoming a member. “Like” the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library during Friends week and you have a chance to win a free Chromebook!

Visit the library’s website at www.escanabalibrary.org to learn more about the Friends and link to a membership brochure.
