EDITOR: I called our Congressional representatives, Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters, on September 20th. Left a message and did not receive a call-back. I called Stabenow’s local office in Marquette yesterday. Someone answered, which shocked me. I explained I wanted to talk to someone on some issues I was concerned about, such as illegal southern boarder crossings, infrastructure bill, debt ceiling, monitoring banking information, COVID vaccine mandates, and other issues. We don’t need more programs

EDITOR: This is in response to Mindy Grant’s letter in the September 30 Daily Press. We don’t need more advanced programs to feed kids. What we need is more responsible parents to go to work and feed their kids not the taxpayer feeding their kids. There was summer nutrition programs before COVID. There are help wanted signs everywhere. All businesses are short of help because they can’t get people to work. If they do hire someone most of the time they don’t even show up for work. EDITOR: Mr. Olson’s claims against Mr. Robert Reich are yet another example of GOP hysteria. The Democratic Party already has fought for regulations against big businesses for a reason. If left unchecked we have seen what these companies will do, unsafe work conditions, unchecked pollution, intimidating peaceful strikes with violence. EDITOR: The Ninjas have spoken. The Ninjas have spoken. Trump lost the 2020 Arizona election. In their calcualtions, the Ninjas found that Trump lost by more votes than originally reported! Congress must build back better for kids

EDITOR: Today, 1 in 6 children in Michigan may face hunger in the wake of the COVID pandemic. But Congressional action during this crisis has significantly blunted hardship and hunger for many families. Soon that may change. Without action from Congress, new and enhanced policies that are helping to feed more kids than ever before will expire. Through the Build Back Better plan, Congress must make the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer program, or Summer EBT, available nationwide.
