EDITOR: Another school shooting and the liberals immediately gush out the standard propaganda which must contain words like “assault weapon” and phrases like “how many children…” and “when will the Republicans…” This is all expected and continues to promote false descriptions and impressions. What was left out of the news reports and White House briefing was such truths as “occurred in a ‘gun-free’ zone” and “another case of black-on-black violence”… had this happened in Chicago it would be called “just another weekend”!! Speed kills

EDITOR: It has become a major problem. There are speed limits. Those are not suggestions. When you are joyriding down Ludington Street by the cemetery at 45 and 50 miles per hour, you should get a ticket. Once you leave the stop light at 5th Avenue North going toward the fairgrounds, there is no prize to the first pick up that makes it. And then you get between Escanaba and Gladstone, if you are not going at least 65, you’ll get run over. It is like a drag strip. I’m asking drivers to slow down. Putting stress on our children

EDITOR: A transgender teen in Denver was responsible for a school shooting there. The Abeerdeen Maryland mass shooting that killed three and wounded two was committed by a transgender. Last year’s nightclub shooting in Colorado Springs that left five people dead and 25 injured was committed by a non-binary person. Of course, the recent school shooting in Nashville was perpetrated by yet another transgender (or “gender-confused” as some media is reporting) individual. County commission saga continues

EDITOR: The county commissioner meeting 4/4/23 was another example of three commissioners overriding common sense, detailed research and what is best for our county. I sincerely hope that down the road we don’t discover that three commissioners have already hand-picked the next administrator. It boggles the mind as to why they would dumb down the requirements for administrator and insist that board members only review applications. Secondly, they voted to get rid of Zoom for those constituents who cannot attend personally. Doing so eliminates an avenue for public comment. ...

EDITOR: Watching the News these days, I cannot help but wonder if my fellow Americans know what POI “Presumption of Innocence” is? The defendant in a criminal trial is assumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty. POI is one of our fundamental legal rights. Ford River Township marijuana growing

EDITOR: Our township board approved indoor marijuana growing in our township. I attended the Ford River Planning and Zoning Board workshops on March 15th. The recommended distance from the lawyer who drew up the rules was 500 feet from the neighbor’s property line. The grower who was present, said that was too far because he had a neighbor closer than that and if they could lower the distance. After “some” discussion they agreed on a 100 feet.
