EDITOR:

Another school shooting and the liberals immediately gush out the standard propaganda which must contain words like “assault weapon” and phrases like “how many children…” and “when will the Republicans…” This is all expected and continues to promote false descriptions and impressions. What was left out of the news reports and White House briefing was such truths as “occurred in a ‘gun-free’ zone” and “another case of black-on-black violence”… had this happened in Chicago it would be called “just another weekend”!!

Biden’s press secretary calls for an “assault weapons ban” (again) to prevent instances like this. However, the firearm was not an assault weapon, an AR15, AR16, AK47 or any variant of actual military weapons. No matter, it sounds good even though the civilian versions of these firearms are responsible for a very small number of shootings. The school had just gone through “active shooter” training to no avail, what went wrong there? The doors were easily breached. Will we ever hear an answer to that. The assailant was dressed in an aggressive fashion and moved with purpose. And as in these cases, no one shot back. A yet unsubstantiated report mentioned a possible transgender connection. If true then the omission of that fact demonstrates political correctness can also be at fault for the deaths.

Let’s try one more time (doubtlessly with an Einsteinian result re/insanity)… an “assault weapon” is one capable of full automatic (machine gun) fire and available only to military and police. The firearm used here was a KelTec Sub2000 pistol caliber carbine which fired only one bullet with each trigger pull. For some reason liberals refuse to accept this fact and report falsely in every situation.

It is obvious in this recent instance that laws designed to prevent such occurrences are not effective. Politicians (usually Democrats) are always suggesting we seek a “root cause” for poverty, illegal immigration, drug use, etc. But instead of seeking a root cause for this type of violence, they seek to blame the existence of inherently inert mechanical devises. Have you noticed how many shootings were preceded by what are described as “obvious signs” that turn into violent acts? And again, Woke PC concerns of personal privacy preclude intervention by trained professionals.

I challenge anyone to provide a direct result between a “gun law” and the crime it prevented. Gun law X can be shown to have prevented crime Y. I await an answer. Only law abiding citizens obey laws, and now are again being imposed upon to pay for the crimes of others. Laws have power after they have been broken, thereby creating criminals. Now, everyone is being treated as a potential criminal. A common ploy again for liberals.

When will the Democrats seriously investigate the root causes of this violence and act before it becomes another slaughter of innocents by any means?
