Right-wing excesses

EDITOR:

It would be greatly appreciated to have this editorial perspective published in our paper:

Having read the numerous anti-socialism articles in your editorials, I would like to examine what such meaningless criticisms imply. Political extremism could be on the ultra-liberal side — as in Venezuela, Cuba, and China — or on the extreme conservative side. Needless to say, there are never any criticisms of the right-wing excesses in these editorials despite the many examples of right-wing dictatorship disasters in our world today — all of whom are so admired by Trump — Putin in Russia, Erdogan in Turkey, Kim Un in North Korea, and others. Socialist programs have existed for years in countries that have solved problems such as providing effective health care and creating higher minimum wages that allow an enjoyment of life and a higher standard of living than what we have in the United States. Countries, such as Canada, Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, and Great Britain are socialistic and do not have dictators like Trump’s right-wing heroes. Unfortunately, we have an egocentric Trump admiring fascism and the total removal of rights (such as the right to vote) and anxious to dismantle any semblance of our democratic origins including that of our postal service -despite potential constitutional treason charges against him and despite complacent Republicans. Law and order should not be marshal law with tanks and unmarked soldiers hustling on the streets of our cities.

This is a sad time for our country and needs to be resolved before all constitutional restraints on this wanna-be dictator are destroyed.

Thank you for this article’s inclusion .
