SOS and inability to process mail
EDITOR:
I mailed my driver’s license renewal fee to the Michigan Secretary of State office on April 22, 2020. As of this writing, June 7, I have not received my new license. I emailed the SOS office inquiring about the delay. SOS responded that “due to our inability to process mail during the temporary office closure between March 13 and May 29, customers may experience a slight delay receiving their renewed or replaced driver’s license or state ID by mail.” If the SOS could not process mail during March 13 thru May 29, how was it possible to mail out all those Michigan absent voter ballot applications?
