North Central, students help Special Olympics

This week’s bouquets go to:

Special Olympics basketball players from Menominee and Delta counties were guests of honor at a Fun Day organized by Stacy Strasler and North Central Schools and its community on Saturday, March 19. 24 Special Olympians played basketball with student athletes from North Central — different mixed tams playing a quarter at a time — as well as getting to participate in a three pointer and free throw contests. There was also a concession stand, bake sale and t-shirt sales to support the local Special Olympics programs that raised over $1,000. “The day was amazing and everyone had a great time. A big thank you to Stacy for organizing this event for us and to Randy and the students of North Central for being so kind, welcoming and fun for our athletes.” said Becky Carey, Special Olympics area director.
