Timothy James Bruce

Timothy James Bruce

GREEN BAY, Wis. –Timothy James Bruce, 49, went home to Jesus on October 2, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a warrior who battled cancer just like he did everything else in life, with a smile on his face and a determination to win. He won the biggest prize of all, salvation, and eternal resting with our heavenly father.

Tim was born July 1, 1974, in Escanaba, Mich. to Kenneth Dale and Nancy (Smith) Bruce. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1992. He married Tifiny (Hirn) on June 8, 2002, and celebrated 21 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children, Samantha (Tyler) DeVore, Zachary (Alyssa) Bruce, and Aiden Bruce along with five “little loves” or grandbabies, Bryson, Cove, Scarlette, Maverick, Baby Wesley born 2 days after Papa’s passing, and #6 coming in Feb 2024. Tim is also survived by his mother Nancy (Smith) Bruce, siblings- Rick (Joan) Norden, Michael Norden, Kelly (Tim) Smith, Lauri Kausak, Jamie (Tracy) Bruce, Brian (Christine) Bruce, his in-laws Sharon Davis, Pete (Debbie) Hirn Jr., Melinda Grenier, Tonya (John) Greer, Kiki (Mike) Kutchmarek, Neil Clapp, Gordon (Amy) Chamberlain, Tim (Brittany) Chamberlain, Peter (Lauren) Hirn III, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tim was a man of passion. He gave 110% to everything he did. Whether it was working out (his biggest passion in life), his family, watching his kids play sports, coaching, mentoring, date nights, traveling, his love for football — the Packers and Go Blue Michigan, serving others, Jesus, pooping (yes, I said pooping. Which he did LOTS!), camping, (Brush your damn teeth!), golfing (he could have used some help on this Pops), baseball and the Detroit Tigers, well he just loved life and loved to share it with others. He loved knowledge, no matter what the topic was. If you needed help and reached out, he would do everything he could to help. He was that kind of friend. He was the loudest voice in the room, well you usually heard him before you saw him. He had the biggest heart and made you feel loved with the biggest and greatest hugs!  He will be missed by many.

Tim worked at different jobs in life but the only one that had meaning is the one he built with his wife, WIT Logistics. After many years of working for everyone else, it was time to build their own legacy. His wife, Tifiny, and daughters, Samantha and Alyssa will continue that on for him.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dale Bruce, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

The family will be receiving visitors on Saturday, October 14 at the Salvation Army located at 3001 5th Ave S., Escanaba, Mich. from 12 to 4 p.m. ET. Tim’s Celebration of Life service will be at 4:30 p.m. ET with a meal to follow in the gym. Captain Kim and Doug Winters and Phil Gungor will be officiating the funeral.
