Robert Octave Perron
ESCANABA — Robert Octave Perron, 92, of Escanaba, Mich., passed away Jan. 19, 2019, at his home in North Fort Myers, Fla. He was born on April 2, 1926, in Escanaba, the son of Joseph and Ozana (Chenail) Perron. Robert graduated from Escanaba High School with the class of 1945. He married Eileen Hamm on July 2, 1949. They were members of St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. Robert was employed as a salesman for Kobasic Furniture for 35 years. In 1987, after retiring, he and his wife wintered in Florida. He took up golf and fishing in retirement and enjoyed other activities such as biking and traveling with his lovely wife.
Robert O. Perron is survived by: son, Robert (Marti) Perron of North Fort Myers, Fla.; daughter, Elizabeth (David) Oslund of Green Bay, Wis.; grandchildren, Lisa Oslund, Scott (Nicole) Perron, Heather (Bob) Herdina, and Isaac (Heather) Oslund; great-grandchildren, Meredith Perron, Malachi Oslund, Bryce Perron, Dane Oslund, Ellis Herdina, Camille Perron, and Breckyn Herdina; sister-in-law, Blanche Perron of Big Rapids, Mich.; brother-in-law, Eugene (Faye) Hamm of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Eleanor Perron-Valk; son-in-law, Richard Valk; and his brothers, Joseph (Roselyn) Perron, and Howard Perron.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday with Father Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
