Lawrence ‘Larry’ Sweitzer

Larry was born Aug. 18, 1957, in Dearborn, Mich., the son of Robert and Gerda (Johnson) Sweitzer. Larry married Patricia Lane on Oct. 17, 1988, in Marquette, Mich. Together they made their home in Gladstone, Mich. Larry worked at Lakestate Industries in Escanaba for many years and also worked for DATA for a short period of time.

Larry had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and even took on taxidermy. He liked to play the guitar to his wife, Patty.

In addition to his wife, Patty, he is survived by: mother, Gerda Sweitzer of Caldwell, Idaho; three sisters, Julie (Wayne) Edwards of Cape Coral, Fla., Susan (Dennis) Helkenn of Caldwell, Idaho, Erika (David) Jones of Renton, Wash.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Sweitzer, and a baby brother.

Family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 2, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. Pastor Scott Breault will be officiating services for Larry at 3 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Sweitzer family.
