Police chase spans over three U.P. counties

CRYSTAL FALLS — A Wisconsin resident was arrested Wednesday after leading law enforcement officers from seven separate agencies on a chase across three Upper Peninsula counties.

At approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, Michigan State Police troopers from the Iron Mountain Post began pursuing a vehicle that was reported stolen from the Trojan Gas station in Crystal Falls. The pursuit began in Iron County, led into Dickinson County, and ultimately ended on M-69 East in Menominee County.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Green Bay resident, was taken into custody after losing control of the vehicle. The suspect was then lodged at the Iron County Jail. No injuries occurred during the incident.

Michigan State Police troopers were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Hannahville Tribal Police, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
