ESCANABA — The Escanaba City Council is set to hold a public hearing at their regular meeting Thursday on an amendment to the current Appropriations Ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday at City Hall, 410 Ludington St., Room C101.
According to the council agenda, an amendment is needed to balance out over and under expenditures within various departmental budgets for the 2025-26 fiscal year. The city amends the Appropriations Ordinance each year.
The action is reportedly mandated by State law and adjusts budget accounts to help ensure that no individual line items are overrun.
In other business, council is expected to:
– Consider the purchase of multiple vehicles for city operations, including two Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicles for the Escanaba Department of Public Safety and three plow trucks for the Escanaba Public Works Department.
– Consider a special event application from the Neighbors of the 1200 Block of N 16th St for closure of the 1200 block of N 16th St for their annual Northtown Block Party on Saturday, July 18.
