Delta County sees one additional case of virus in 24 hours
State COVID-19 data Friday showed only one new confirmed positive in Delta County.
Schoolcraft County updated its figures Thursday to show 232 confirmed positives — an earlier error had 239 cases — along with 32 probable, 252 recovered and five deaths, according to the Luce-Mackinac-Alger-Schoolcraft District Health Department.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Friday had a total of 10 new confirmed cases in the Upper Peninsula: four in Marquette County; two in Gogebic County; and one each in Delta, Iron, Houghton, Baraga and Chippewa counties; Ontonagon County’s count was lowered by one. The state also listed a new virus-related death in Baraga County but reduced Houghton County’s fatalities by one.
Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Friday has had 16,577 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 388 deaths.
Across the U.P., the MDHHS data site Friday had Keweenaw County at 117 confirmed cases and 30 probable, and one death and one probable death; Luce County, 132 confirmed cases and 103 probable, one probable death; Schoolcraft County, 232 confirmed cases and 33 probable, four deaths and one probable; Alger County, 279 confirmed, 157 probable and one death, four probable; Mackinac County, 294 confirmed cases and 156 probable, three deaths; Ontonagon County, 361 confirmed, 56 probable and 19 deaths, one probable; Baraga County, 511 confirmed cases, 103 probable and 33 deaths; Chippewa County, 738 confirmed cases and 1,045 probable, and 23 deaths, four probable; Iron County, 867 confirmed cases and 60 probable, 40 confirmed deaths and nine probable; Gogebic County, 950 confirmed cases and 346 probable, 21 confirmed deaths and 28 probable; Menominee County, 1,628 confirmed cases, 265 probable and 36 deaths, two probable; Dickinson County, 2,136 confirmed cases and 246 probable, 55 confirmed deaths and 15 probable; Houghton County, 2,161 confirmed cases, 533 probable, 31 confirmed deaths and eight probable; Delta County, 2,689 confirmed cases and 489 probable, 66 confirmed deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 3,482 confirmed cases, 521 probable and 55 deaths, one probable. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.
The MDHHS on Friday posted 2,403 confirmed new coronavirus positives in Michigan for a total of 605,778. The state added seven new deaths Friday to reach 15,736.
