Help for animal shelter

Courtesy photo The Delta Animal Shelter continues to receive help and donations locally and from out of the area to care for 130 dogs rescued from a puppy mill in August. Recently, a group representing several Pet Supplies Plus stores throughout Wisconsin packed a U-Haul carrying over 1,600 pounds. of dog food, 20 cases of treats, 100 assorted dog toys and other pet supplies — and drove over two hours to the Upper Peninsula to ensure its arrival at the Delta Animal Shelter where the pups are recovering. The shelter’s resources were strained from the task of helping the more than 130 dogs recovered in the raid, most of which were in poor condition and severely malnourished. After hearing the news, a Pet Supplies Plus’ franchise group called US Retail Group reached out to gather donations from pet food and supply vendors and drove it up to the shelter to provide some relief.
