League planning virtual candidate forums
ESCANABA — The Delta County League of Women Voters is hosting candidate forums for the upcoming Nov. 3 General Election. The League would like the public to be involved.
On Oct. 5 the first forum will host the candidates running for Delta County commissioner in District 4 – Rebecca McIntyre and David Moyle, District 5 – Bob Barron, Bob Peterson and David Rivard. The second forum, date to be determined will host the candidates for the 108th State Representative seat — Beau LaFave and Renee Richer. Invitations have also been extended to the Escanaba School Board candidates.
The forums will be conducted virtually and recorded via Zoom and made available on the local League’s Facebook page “Delta County League of Women Voters” and its website www.deltacountylwv.org.
If you would like to ask the candidates a question, send it to lwvdeltacounty@yahoo.com by Oct. 3, indicating which office you are questioning. An audience will not be allowed during recording, so all questions must be received prior to the forum for review.
The LWVDC provides a free, non-partisan, online Voter Guide at Vote411.org and a printed Voter Guide to assist voters in making informed decisions when they vote in the November 3rd General Election. The printed Voter Guide will be distributed through the Daily Press on Oct. 7.
Any questions regarding voter service activities should be emailed to Ann Bissell: bissella@baycollege.edu.
