Delta County sees 4th death from virus
ESCANABA — The Upper Peninsula had 1,231 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 196 probable cases and 20 deaths linked to the disease as of Friday, according to state officials. These numbers include a newly-reported death in Delta County.
“Delta County had an additional death — the only information I have is that it is a female,” Public Health, Delta and Menominee Counties Health Officer Michael Snyder said.
Delta County had a total of 174 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 30 probable cases and four deaths; Menominee County had 234 confirmed cases and 31 probable cases; and Schoolcraft County had 16 confirmed cases and one probable case.
Elsewhere in the peninsula, Alger County had 16 confirmed cases and one probable case; Baraga County had seven confirmed cases and three probable cases; Chippewa County had 45 confirmed cases and 22 probable cases; Dickinson County had 72 confirmed cases, one probable case and two deaths; Gogebic County had 139 confirmed cases, ten probable cases and one death; Houghton County had 163 confirmed cases, 34 probable cases and one death; Iron County had 41 confirmed cases, three probable cases and one death; Keweenaw County had four confirmed cases and two probable cases; Luce County had ten confirmed cases; Mackinac County had 36 confirmed cases and 14 probable cases; Marquette County had 238 confirmed cases, 43 probable cases and 11 deaths; and Ontonagon County had 36 confirmed cases and one probable case.
