Cedar River Bridge Walk is Sept. 5

CEDAR RIVER — Organizers said the Cedar River Bridge Walk will be held completely outdoors this year, allowing ample space for social distancing. Other precautionary steps will also be in place.

The Cedar River Bridge Walk will take place the Saturday of Labor Day weekend — Sept. 5.

The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. CST with live entertainment.

Beginning ceremonies will take place at the Cedarville Township Hall and Volunteer Fire Department on the north end of the Cedar River Bridge just off of Highway M-35 on Old Mill Lane across from the Cedar River State Harbor.

The bridge walk will take the festival goers, after opening ceremonies, south over the bridge to the festival grounds at The Halfway Bar and Grill (aka Cedar River Pub)

The festival features a unique bridge walk, dubbed the “Biggest Littlest Bridge Walk.” Near a football field in length, the Cedar River Bridge is much shorter and easier on the feet than the five plus mile mighty Mackinac Bridge Walk, which is canceled this year.

The event will feature live music, food, refreshments, various raffles, and a wide range of vendors selling crafts and products.

This year’s Cedar River Bridge Walk is a fundraiser for the Cedarville Township Volunteer Fire Department and Cedar River Chapel’s Community Fund.
