U.P. virus cases nearing 300

ESCANABA — Cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula continued to rise Wednesday. According to state officials, the peninsula had 293 confirmed cases of the disease and 18 deaths linked to it as of that day.

Delta County had a total of 30 confirmed COVID-19 cases, seven probable cases and three deaths; Menominee County had 48 confirmed cases and three probable cases; and Schoolcraft County had seven confirmed cases.

Elsewhere in the peninsula, Alger County had four confirmed cases and one probable case; Baraga County had five confirmed cases; Chippewa County had 19 confirmed cases and four probable cases; Dickinson County had 20 confirmed cases, one probable case and two deaths; Gogebic County had 17 confirmed cases, one probable case and one death; Houghton County had 26 confirmed cases and five probable cases; Iron County had eight confirmed cases and one death; Keweenaw County had two confirmed cases; Luce County had three confirmed cases; Mackinac County had nine confirmed cases; Marquette County had 94 confirmed cases, four probable cases and 11 deaths; and Ontonagon County had one confirmed case.
