Gladstone sets framework for fireworks
GLADSTONE — The Gladstone City Commission approved a permit to display fireworks at the city’s 4th of July celebration this summer. The commission met Monday night. Spielbauer Fireworks Company, of Green Bay, would set off the show at the beach area near the lighthouse.
The commission has not yet made a decision whether to have the fireworks display, and have placed all activities and events on hold until further guidance is issued by the state. By approving the permit the city has guaranteed a fireworks display in Gladstone should the state change its previous COVID-19 executive orders limiting gatherings.
In other business the commission:

Appropriations made for the current fiscal year from April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021 are: General Government – $995,624, Cemetery – $99,920, Public Safety – $1,693,806, General Public Works – $378,179, and Parks and Recreation – $834,208.
