ESCANABA — Michigan’s primary election is being held today, and local residents will have a chance to vote for their presidential candidate of choice.

Polls for the election will be open across Michigan from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters will have to state whether they would like a Democrat ballot or a Republican ballot at the polls.
