Candidates interviewed for county administrator post

ESCANABA — The process of interviewing candidates for the position of Delta County administrator got started during a committee of the whole meeting Monday evening.

During the meeting, at the Delta County Courthouse, interviews with finalists Jean Healy of Tallahassee, Fla., Darren Widder of Escanaba and Michael Silverman of Caro, Mich. took place. Healy is the Florida House of Representatives policy chief and Florida Department of Education deputy executive director, Widder is the Upward Talent Council workforce services manager, and Silverman is Caro’s city manager/management analyst.

Interviews will continue at tonight’s Delta County Board of Commissioners meeting, set for 5:15 p.m. at the Delta County Service Center. Emily DeSalvo of Escanaba, district court administrator for Delta County, and Jack Ardaugh of Chicago, attorney of council for Fahey & Associates, will be interviewed at the meeting.

A decision on hiring a finalist to fill the administrator position may or may not be made during the meeting, as well.
