ESCANABA — Drivers in the work zone on the Escanaba River Bridge will encounter delays Wednesday. Beginning at 9 a.m., contractors will work to clean the work zone, straighten barrels and adjust lane separators. This work will require intermittent closures of eastbound and westbound lanes under flag control. The work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m.

Lead-in work is expected to resume on the bridge in May, weather permitting, with paving scheduled to begin June 1. The project is expected to be completed in early July.
