ESCANABA — A road project slated to begin Wednesday in Escanaba will begin today instead, according to the City of Escanaba officials.

Rain and storms delayed work Wednesday on the 3rd Avenue North construction project between North Lincoln Road and Stephenson Avenue. The entire route, including the intersection at Stephenson Avenue, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7 a.m. today and re-opened once grade work is complete.

Additional closures for paving and striping will be announced prior to work.

The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.

Motorists are asks to avoid this area and allow extra travel time.
