KINGSFORD — Get into the holiday spirit early at the annual Daily News Newspapers in Education Big Holiday Craft Show on Saturday in Kingsford.

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central time event is expected to draw thousands to Kingsford Middle/High School, 445 Hamilton Ave. Admission is free.

The Big Holiday Craft Show grows more poplar every year, organizers said. This year’s show once again is sold out for vendors, drawing from throughout Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin.

“Our Big Holiday Craft Show is the local start to a lot of people’s Christmas shopping — there is such a variety of items and services all under one roof,” said Jennifer Flynn, Daily News regional circulation manager and Newspapers in Education coordinator.

Baked goods, freeze-dried candy and fruit, soup mixes, candles, flower arrangements, jewelry, drawings, paintings — all will be at this year’s event, with a good mix not only of the vendors who have been at the show since the start but new ones as well.

Several authors will be on site with their books, including Jen Pease — pen name Gin Peace — autographing her 12th book just released, “Finnick’s Quest”

Along with the vendors selling their items, the show will have some direct sales booths, informational booths and booths selling raffle tickets for different events.

A complete list of vendors for the show is on page A-8 of Wednesday’s Daily News.

The Kingsford Music Booster Club will have concessions, including the ever-popular beefy nachos and hot turkey sandwiches, for sale through mid-afternoon in the cafeteria. Yogurt parfaits and fruit will be available for breakfast as well.

Community members are encouraged to come support the vendors and crafters as well as the booster club.

For more information, call Flynn at 906-774-2772, ext. 218.

Starting at $3.50/week.
