MENOMINEE — Activities f the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department

July 26

7:37 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a residence on G-12 in Stephenson Township for a report of malicious destruction of property. She reported that her political signs were damaged and the suspect left some ruts in her yard. An investigation was conducted.

11:12 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a semi rollover on M-35 in Ingallston Township. A semi driven by Ben Smith of Marquette was south bound when his trailer brakes locked which caused him to enter the ditch and rollover. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and the driver sustained minor injuries.

6:08 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a trespass complaint on Division St in the City of Stephenson. The caller stated two pickups drove through her yard.

July 27

5:32 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to an address on Robert St in the City of Stephenson for a report for domestic assault. Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and it was found to be a dispute and the incident was closed.

July 28

4:20 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to Robert St in the City of Stephenson for a breaking and entering complaint. An investigation was conducted and it was found that the caller’s brother had broken in and they started arguing but the suspect left. The suspect a 24-year-old Stephenson man was arrested a short time later for breaking and entering. He was transported the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

10:10 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to River Dr in Menominee Township for a malicious destruction of property complaint. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

1:10 pm a Deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a threat’s complaint on Pine St in Spalding Township.

01:28 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Bay De Noc Dr in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Jessica Scholl (37) of Menominee was traveling north and failed to see a vehicle driven by Renee Norman (57) of Marinette slowing to make a turn. Scholl struck Norman in the rear causing functional damage to both vehicles. Norman reported minor injuries in the crash.

July 29

\7:58 a.m. A deputy along with fire were dispatched to a vehicle on fire in Spalding Township. The owner stated she had just arrived at work and smelled gas. She backed the car away from the building and then noticed flames under the hood. No injuries were reported.

2:28 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township. A vehicle driven by Spencer Hanisko (22) of Escanaba was traveling east and failed to noticed the vehicle in front of him driven by Joshua Yates was turning left. Hanisko struck Yates vehicle in the rear passenger’s side causing disabling damage to his vehicle. Yates vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.

July 30

1:58 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a larceny complaint on US 2 & 41 in Spalding Township. The caller stated her house was broken into and some items were stolen. An investigation was conducted and is ongoing.

8:42 p.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on M-35 in Cedarville Township for speed. Upon further investigation the driver, a 60-year-old Menominee woman, was arrested for no operator’s license and was also cited for no registration and speed. She was advised to contact the 95A District Court of Menominee.

July 31

07:43 a.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 2 in Spalding Township for speed. The vehicle attempted to elude the Deputy however he was able to get it stopped and made contact with the driver. The driver, a 37-year-old Iron Mountain woman, was arrested for reckless driving and released. Charges for flee and elude were requested.

Aug. 1

7:46 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on CR 577 in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Mary Lindquist (62) of Wallace was entering CR 577 from CR 338 and failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle drive by Logan Comstock (20) of Wallace and the two collided causing disabling damage to both vehicles. Both drivers complained of pain but refused rescue.

Aug. 2

1:55 p.m. A deputy arrested a 29-year-old Wilson man on a valid warrant in Delta County. The warrant was for a probation violation on an original charge of child support out of 41st Circuit Court of Menominee. The subject was transported and lodged at the Menominee County Jail.

Aug. 3

6:05 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to M-35 in Cedarville Township for a report of child abuse. An investigation was conducted and the incident was closed.

4:30 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to an address on US 41 in Spalding Township for a personal protection order violation. Upon contact it was found that there is no PPO in place and the caller was advised to seek one in case future incidents occur.

Aug. 4

10 a.m. A deputy arrested a 43-year-old Bark River man on a valid warrant in Delta County. The warrant was for a probation violation on an original charge of child support out of 41st Circuit Court of Menominee. The man was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

12:32 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic assault on Bay De Noc Dr in Menominee Township. An investigation was conducted and a 41-year-old Menominee man was arrested for domestic assault and was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.
