Activities of the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department from March 9 to 13:

March 9

1:09 p.m. Deputies along with fire were dispatched to a tree on the power lines that was on fire on State Rd in Faithorn Township. The tree ended up burning off of the line and the remaining fire was put out. No injuries were reported in the incident.

March 10

10:46 a.m. Deputies along with fire were dispatched to a fire on Local 32 in Gourley Township. The fire was thought to have started from an outdoor wood burner. No reports of injuries were reported in the incident.

12:26 p.m. A deputy was advised to contact a subject in reference to a dog bite compliant on US 2 in Meyer Township. The caller stated the victim was brought to the hospital and they were planning to put the dog down for safety reasons.

1:28 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a reckless shooting of firearms complaint on T-1 Dr in in Menominee Township. An investigation was conducted and the suspects were advised

6:14 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a residence for a suspicious situation on Labelle Rd in Spalding Township. The caller stated their neighbor has been stopping over and acting suspiciously.

March 11

7:40 a.m. A deputy initiated a traffic stop on US 41 in Menominee Township for speed. Upon further investigation the driver, a 37-year-old Menominee woman, was arrested for driving while revoked and cited for speed.

3:57 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a larceny compliant on Cedar St in Spalding Township. The caller stated her son stole her credit card and purchased some items.

5:10 p.m. A deputy arrested a 46-year-old Gladstone man on a valid warrant out of Delta County. The warrant was for failure to appear for show cause out of 95A District Court. The subject was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

March 12

10:16 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to a residence on US 41 in Menominee Township for a report of a domestic in progress. Upon further investigation a 38-year-old Menominee man was arrested for domestic assault and was transported to the Menominee County Jail where he was lodged.

11:18 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash on US 41 in Nadeau Township. A vehicle driven by Stephen Hummel (59) of Daggett was north bound on US 41 when his drivers side tire came off and rolled into the ditch striking a vehicle that was parked for sale. No injuries were reported and the parked vehicle sustained only minor damage.

11:39 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to a domestic on US 41 in Menominee Township. Upon further investigation it was found to be a family dispute and the incident was cleared.

March 13

12 a.m. A deputy arrested a 29-year-old Menominee woman on 6 valid warrants out of 95A District Court of Menominee. She was arrested and lodged at the Menominee County Jail.

10:43 a.m. A deputy was dispatched to an assault that had just occurred on US 41 in Menominee Township. Upon further investigation the female subject was warned of criminal trespass and the incident was closed.

12:58 p.m. A deputy along with fire were dispatched to a brush fire on Spring Green Rd in Harris Township. Fire was able to get it under control with no injuries or building being burnt.

8:06 p.m. A deputy was dispatched to a suspicious situation on Labelle Rd in Spalding Township. The caller stated the neighbor came over and parked his car in their driveway and then left.
