ESCANABA — Defendants were sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court recently. They include:

Heather Sue Malinowski, P.O. Box 204, Rapid River, pleaded guilty to controlled substances – possession of methamphetamine. She was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served.

Zachary James Heider, 4965 North Pederson Circle, Escanaba, pleaded no contest to two counts of larceny in a building. He was sentenced to seven months in jail with credit for seven days served. He was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $874 and placed on probation for 18 months.

John Joseph Morris, 314 S. 10th St., Apt 2, Escanaba, pleaded guilty to operating with a high blood alcohol content and attempted stolen property – receiving and concealing – motor vehicle. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail with credit for 97 days served. He was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $690.

Michael James Liberty, 1407 1st Ave. N., Escanaba, pleaded guilty to attempted controlled substance – possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 34 days served. He was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $840 and placed on probation for 12 months.

Rebbecca Ashley Nichols-Zimmer, 4944 17.25 Karen St., Escanaba, pleaded no contest to controlled substance – delivery/manufacture (schedules 1,2 and 3 except marijuana, methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine). She was sentenced to 23 months to seven years in prison with credit for 18 days served. She was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $198.

Paul Gary Storms, address unknown, pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of personal property – $20,000 or more. He was sentenced to 10 months in jail with credit for 206 days served. He was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $348, $28,148.97 restitution and was placed on probation for 24 months.

Michelle Lee Hardwick, address unknown, pleaded guilty to attempted retail fraud – first degree. She was sentenced to 11 months in jail with credit for 174 days served. She was also assessed fines, costs and fees of $1,147.
