Stephanie “Stevie” Severson celebrated her 101st birthday Thursday at The Lakehouse in Escanaba. She marked the event with a surprise party attended by members of the Marine Corps League, family and friends. She was born in Perronville. She served in the Marines and Army and was married to her husband Lyman for 65 years. They had three children. She enjoys playing Scrabble on the computer with her family. Her advice for young people — be honest, be kind, and go to church. Get along with friends and neighbors.
