Music Mondays continuing through August
ESCANABA — Music lovers have been getting out for some fun, free concerts this summer on Monday evenings. Continuing in the City of Escanaba’s annual Music Mondays summer tradition, these concerts, which are from 7 to 9 p.m., continue through Monday, Aug. 15 at Ludington Park’s Karas Bandshell.
Music Mondays offer listeners a variety of musical styles. The public can relax while listening to some great local bands, and is welcome to use available bench seating or bring their own lawn chairs or blankets, and maybe even something to drink. These fun free concerts offer everyone the opportunity to come out and savor nature, while listening to music, dancing, or just hanging out.
On Aug. 1, the Marquette-based Flat Broke Blues Band will take the Bandshell stage. Flat Broke Blues Band’s stage show is filled with an entertaining and danceable mix of blues (with influences of rock and soul) and R & B classics, along with a variety of original songs that showcase the talents of all of the band members.
Next, on August 8, Stonewall will play acoustic music from the 60s through today’s popular music–with some country and classic rock songs in the mix. Finally, on August 15, Sit Down Francis will entertain the crowd with their signature hardcore alternative folk music.
The concerts are sponsored in part by The Bonifas Arts Center, The City of Escanaba, MACC, CUPPAD, EMP, Michigan Broadband, Highline Internet, Peninsula Federal Credit Union, First Bank, Riverside Auto Group, and Sayklly’s Confectionery & Gifts.
