Local school districts distribute food to students

School districts are finding ways to help provide meals to students while out of school. The Daily Press will publish a weekly list of schools providing pickup or delivery meals until no longer needed.

BARK RIVER-HARRIS — General meal pick up is Monday and Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the back parking lot at the Bark River-Harris school. Hannahville meals are available for pick up Mondays between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Nah Tah Wahsh School.

NORTH CENTRAL — Currently meals are prepared on Mondays and delivered to families on Tuesdays.

BIG BAY de NOC — Meals are delivered Thursdays at the end of the students’ driveway at home. Buses depart the school approximately 10 a.m. Families are asked to place a receptacle at the end of the driveway for delivery personnel to place the food bags in.

SUPERIOR CENTRAL — Meal pickup sites are in Chatham (Village Pub) and Trenary (Silver Dollar) on Tuesday between 4 and 6 p.m.

ESCANABA — Next planned curb-side pick up is Tuesday, April 6, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the west side parking lot at the Escanaba high school.

GLADSTONE — Meals are available Mondays from 2 to 6 p.m. at Jones and Cameron schools.

RAPID RIVER — Meals are available Mondays from 2 to 6 p.m. Families can pick up at the school.

MANISTIQUE — Families can pick up meals in two locations, Jack’s Fresh Market – Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and at Little Bear Arena – Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

MID PENINSULA — Families will continue to receive delivered meals twice a week through the end of the school closure.
