Carney-Nadeau plans literacy parent program
CARNEY — Carney-Nadeau Public School received $2500 from M&M Area Community Foundation. These funds will support the Early Literacy Parent Program.
This course will be led by literacy coaches from the Menominee County ISD and is designed to teach parents skills and strategies to help their students become better readers and writers. Any parent with a student in grades K-3 is welcome to attend. This program is available, at no cost, to all families in Menominee County.
“I would like to thank the M&M Area Community Foundation for their continued support of the students and families in Menominee County. Literacy is such an important aspect in both education and life. Our goal with this program is to begin emphasizing the importance of literacy early on in a child’s life,” said Travis Depuydt.
Upcoming dates for this program include Dec. 12 and 17 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Carney-Nadeau School. Food and childcare will be provided for any family wishing to attend. Contact the Carney-Nadeau Public School Office at 906-639-2171, if you wish to attend.
