Dave and Susie Anthony of Northern Sun Winery in Bark River recently presented United Way of Delta County executive director Julie Mallard (center) with $774 from their July Funday Sunday event, which featured wine tasting, a vineyard tour and a performance by musicians Genna and Jesse. Proceeds from the event are benefiting the United Way’s free book program for preschoolers, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The program is open to all Delta County children younger than five. Once enrolled, they receive a free book mailed to their home every month until they turn five. Parents can register at www.imaginationlibrary.com or by calling the United Way office at (906) 786-3736. More than 930 Delta County children currently are enrolled in the program.
