Every 15 Minutes program at Carney-Nadeau

CARNEY — On Wednesday, Oct. 3, and Thursday, Oct. 4, the Healthy Youth Coalition of Marinette & Menominee Counties along with Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties coordinated the “Every 15 Minutes” anti-drinking and driving program at Carney-Nadeau High School. HYC and Public Health thanks the M&M Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) for granting the coalition $6,000 to coordinate three programs within Marinette and Menominee counties this year.

The “Every 15 Minutes” offers real-life experience without the real-life risks. This is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol. This powerful program will challenge students to think about drinking, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved. Event also includes a parent component which contributes to the effectiveness of the program goals. The Every 15 Minutes Steering Committee is: Menominee County Central Dispatch E-911, Menominee County Courthouse, Bay Area Medical Center, Menominee County Jail, Mid-County Rescue, Nadeau Township Fire, Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home, Menominee County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police who were involved in the two-day program.
