Tickets still available for chamber’s Fire & Ice fundraiser

ESCANABA — Fire & Ice, Delta County Chamber of Commerce’s midwinter fundraiser gala is fast approaching and the finishing details are being completed. Held this year at Terrace Bay Hotel, Feb. 3, tickets are still available at $75 per person.

Organizers have linked the midwinter theme with the opening of the winter Olympics in South Korea and those attending will have fun winning their own medals in “events.”

The kitchens of Freshwater Tavern will be preparing a plated dinner menu for the event that will include: Roast sliced tenderloin with mushroom bordelaise; broiled Lake Superior whitefish with fresh dill, lemon, white wine and smoked sea salt; and baked apricot and honey mustard chicken. For dessert, The Bakery from the Island Resort and Casino will present “Aurora Borealis, Northern Nights”. This is a feature statement piece with surrounding cupcakes. Each table will have two bottles of wine, sponsored by Schneider, Larche, Haapala & Co., and Peninsula Federal Credit Union.

The Terrace Bay Hotel is making it easy for everyone to make a night of it, by providing a special overnight stay package for a Bayside standard two queen room, including chocolates, rose, champagne and continental breakfast.

“We’re grateful for the support we receive from all of our members and the generosity of the Terrace for offering this overnight special to our guests,” said Vickie Micheau, Chamber Director. “While this is our major fundraiser that helps us keep our dues affordable, we want it to be a fabulously fun evening for everyone.”

Reservations can be made online at www.deltami.org or by stopping in at the Chamber offices at 230 Ludington Street.
