Karaoke at AMVETS

ESCANABA — AMVETS Post 123 will host Magic Keys Karaoke on Saturday, June 11 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by The Country Express.

There is a cost for the dance and a free-will donation lunch will also be available. For more info call Lucy at 356-6459.

Croatian chicken dinner

GLADSTONE — A Croatian chicken dinner will be served Sunday, June 12 at the American Legion in Gladstone. The meal is sponsored by the Sons of the American Legion.

Meals can be served for dine-in or carry out but must be placed in advance, as only 100 chickens will be sold. Call 906-428-1050 to place your order for three to six people.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — “The Butterfly’s Daughter” by Mary Alice Monroe is the novel for Rapid Readers discussion at the Wednesday, June 14 meeting of the group. The discussion will take place at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River at 10 a.m.

Suggestions for the July 20 read are “The Hour of the Witch” by Chris Bohjalian or “The Last Flight” by Julie Clark.
