ESCANABA — Laurie Johnson joined the Elks Auxiliary in 2017. She served as vice president of the Auxiliary in 2018 and previously held the position of Loyal Knight for the lodge for two years. Since joining the Auxiliary, Johnson has been very involved with various fundraisers. She has chaired the Auxiliary golf outing for the past four years and has also worked on the committee for Corks and Kegs each year.
Johnson resides in Escanaba. She works at Embers Credit Union as a loan officer, where she has been for 14 years. She has been married to her husband Mike for 28 years. They have two daughters: Kelsey, 23, who lives in Traverse City with her fiance Dylan, and Kylee, 21, who resides in Escanaba.
Johnson enjoys spending time with family and friends at the Elks Lodge, and during the summer months, at the Escanaba Country Club. She loves entertaining friends and family for pool parties, traveling and playing golf.
Johnson’s favorite thing about being a member of the Auxiliary is seeing the other members at the meetings every month and being a part of all the fundraising the group does. She truly enjoys helping the lodge and giving back to the community.
