Candle Light Dinner for library set for April 30
GLADSTONE — The Friends of the Gladstone Public Library are hosting the Annual Candle Light Dinner on April 30 at 6 p.m. at All Saints Church.
The event celebrates the continuing support of the community. Tickets are available at Gladstone Public Library or from any “Friends” member.
NARFE Chapter 1900 meeting planned
MARQUETTE — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1900 will meet at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in person and on Zoom. The Marquette elder-law firm of Brogan and Yonkers will provide a guest speaker.
The in-person meeting will be in Room B of the Marquette Senior Center, 300 W. Spring Street in Marquette, on the lower level of City Hall. Spring Street is one-way from east to west.
Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Members who are not on the Chapter email distribution and who want to receive the Zoom link and passcode should email upmags@gmail.com.
Any active or retired Federal employees are invited to attend NARFE meetings. Non-members are welcome as guests.
NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, L’Anse, Houghton and Hancock areas. For additional information, email upmags@gmail.com.
Lakeview Cemetery Association meeting
ESCANABA — The board of trustees of the Lakeview Cemetery will meet Sunday, April 24 at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Officers will be elected, and the board will be updated on the spring clean-up and plans for the 2022 season. Lot owners are welcome to attend.

Eagles memorial service
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles will conduct a memorial service of love and remembrance for all deceased Aerie and Auxiliary members on Saturday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the Eagles Hall at 608 Ludington St.
Deceased Aerie members to be honored are Richard Frazer, Richard Hanson, Grant Heslip and Arnold Johnson. Deceased Auxiliary members to be honored are Kay Perow Ammel, Sandra Blea, Shirley Casperson, Geraldine Guay, Regina Piron, Phyllis Ritter, Ann Roman and Marian Scherer.
