Last Lenten speaker at Memorial UMC

GLADSTONE — Eric Paad, Founder and President of Caregiver Incentive Project (the-cip.com), will be the guest speaker at Memorial United Methodist Church Wednesday, April 13. He is the last speaker in Memorial’s Lenten Soup and Speaker series. There will be a light soup supper at 5:30 p.m. and the speaker begins at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to attend. The church is located at 1920 Lake Shire Drive in Gladstone and is fully accessible.

Title VI Indian Ed Feast

ESCANABA — Title VI Indian Education of Escanaba Schools Parent Committee is presenting the Spring Public Feast and honoring students, Tuesday, April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. eastern, in the Upper Elementary cafeteria. The school is located at 1500 Ludington Street.

SERA to meet in Newberry for first time

NEWBERRY — The 906 Chapter of the State Employee Retirees Association (SERA) will have its first 2022 in-person luncheon meeting in Newberry on Monday April 18, At Zellar’s.

906 SERA represents all retirees from State of Michigan service in the Upper Peninsula and is part of a network of 18 chapters statewide advocating for retired workers.

All retired state workers are welcome to attend the session, which will feature Representative Sara Cambensy and a presentation on insurance coverages for retirees.

Reservations by Sunday April 10 are required and can be made with Edgar Sommers II by calling 906-250-5560. There is cost for the luncheon.
