MARSP members to hold March luncheon

MANISTIQUE — MARSP members will gather at the VFW Hall 344 N. Maple Street in Manistique at noon Wednesday, March 9, for their first luncheon in 2022. Updates from the state retirement office and plans for future meetings will be discussed.

The luncheon is open to all retired school personnel from Schoolcraft and Eastern Delta counties. New retirees may call Ruth Jones at 906-283-2379 to register.

Memorial UMC soup and speakers

GLADSTONE — Memorial United Methodist Church’s Lenten Soup and Speaker series begins March 9 and runs for five Wednesdays, with a soup supper at 5:30 p.m. and a speaker of community interest at 6 p.m.

Legion Post 71 to meet

GLADSTONE — Gladstone American Legion Post 71 will hold a combined meeting Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m. All members are welcome.

AAUW book night

ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold a book night on March 15 at 5:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring a favorite book to share. Dinner will be provided. Call Judy at 906-789-1905 to make a reservation and to receive location information.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associates degree or higher. Started in 1881, the organization is globally recognized for its advancement of equality for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, March 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by Old Friends.
