Salvation Army Captain Melody Morrison, assisted by Brian Wood, put finishing touches on Christmas baskets before distribution from the Central United Methodist Church in Escanaba. The “baskets” were actually boxes from the Red Owl Country Store, bu regardless of their form, carried good wishes to needy families across the county. Altogether, about 750 Christmas baskets were distributed by various groups and organizations in 1984.
