The YMCA/Delta Plaza Mallwalkers earned 100-Mile Club T-shirts. The mallwalkers went to the Delta Plaza each morning at 8 a.m. for one hour and walked approximately one to four miles per day. They started walking Jan. 19, 1987 and continued until May 15, 1987. The shirts were presented by Carol Shepeck, Delta Plaza marketing director on behalf of the Delta Plaza Merchants, right, YMCA coordinator Ruthie Vinette, left front, said, “Many of the people enjoy walking in the Plaza because of the comfortable and warm surroundings. Some of the mallwalkers are here because of doctors’ otders.” Other mallwalkers included Dale Vinette, Norman LaPalm, Bernice LaPalm, Herb Hamilton, Jeanette Hamilton, Theresa Rudden, Rosemary Pratt, Melvin Sebeck, Julius Sorbey, Steve Galack, Arlene Johnson, Audrey Anderson (not pictured), Cele Dishno, Mary Purzol, and Ownes Menay.
