DAR Christmas Tea set

MARQUETTE — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its DAR Christmas Tea on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 529 Harrison St. in Marquette from noon to 3 p.m. Eastern Time Zone or on Zoom due to COVID-19 — check ahead for confirmation.

If you have questions about genealogy and joining DAR, members will answer them after the meeting. Call Melissa at 906-226-7836 for meeting location or virtual meeting login information.

Cookie recipe swap

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library invites community members to share tried-and-true, traditional, favorite cookie recipes for a community cookie recipe swap. In addition to the recipe, a two to three sentence description of why the recipe is a favorite can be included. Each card will have the recipe and the name of the person or people who submitted it.

To share a recipe — or more than one — drop it off at the library or email it to jlynch@escanabalibrary.org by Friday, Nov. 19. Recipes will be available beginning Monday, Dec. 6, when patrons can come in and create their own cookie recipe collection. For more information, call the library at 789-7323.

Clothes closet hours

GLADSTONE — The Free Clothes Closet located at Memorial United Methodist Church — 1920 Lake Shore Dr., Gladstone, near McDonald’s — near McDonald’s is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to noon.
