Elks brunch Nov. 14
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks November brunch is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. As always, the public is welcome.
Rapid Readers to meet
RAPID RIVER — “Circling The Sun” by Paula McLain will be discussed by the Rapid Readers on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River. Members should bring suggestions for the December selection. New members are welcome.
St.Thomas Church pasty sale this week
ESCANABA — St. Thomas Church will be having a pasty sale on Wednesday, Nov. 10 and Thursday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. each day.
Pasties will be available with or without rutabagas, and can be pre-ordered by calling Debbie at 399-4259. Include how many pasties are being ordered, whether the pasties are plain or with rutabaga and which day will be used for pick up when calling.
Pasties can be picked up at St. Thomas Church, 1820 9th Ave. North, Escanaba.
The next sale will be in January.
Manistique MARSP to meet Wednesday
MANISTIQUE — Retired teacher and author, Jane Kopecky will talk about her newest book, “WWII Conscientious Objectors Germfask, Michigan The Alcatraz Camp” at the Nov. 10 meeting of the Manistique Area Retired School Personnel. The meeting will take place at the VFW Hall, located at 344 Maple Street, at 11:30 a.m. and is open to all retired school personnel from Schoolcraft and Eastern Delta counties.
