2020 Figure Skating
By Anna Martin
Tiny white sheets of snow
Fly into the air
Spreading like the disease
COVID-19
It feels like I’m riding a memory
Down the wrong path
No friends
No family
To go with me
Cones on the ice
Stop me like a stop sign
Not letting me reach my goals
Masks cover our faces
People thinking we’re strangers
Not in a group
Ice rinks close
Like when I put my figure skates
Away in my Zuca bag
Competitions and shows cancel
Like other professional sports
This year
Teary faces multiply
Like moves I’ve learned
In figure skating
