USW collects school supplies for kids in need

Courtesy photo The United Steel Workers Local 2-21, Escanaba Papermakers know that many families in the community are struggling and at times it is hard to make ends meet. Members of the USW Local 2-21 anticipated that school systems may see many children arriving without school supplies on the first day of school, so the Women of Steel group organized a backpack drive to help. They were able to collect and donate backpacks and supplies for those in need at schools in Delta, Menominee and Dickinson counties. “Thank you to all that provided to this great event. Sharing is caring,” said Women of Steel Coordinator Donna Dams, who is shown at left.
