Church rummage sale Saturday in Bark River

BARK RIVER — The Bark River United Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The church is located at 3716 D Road in Bark River, two miles south of U.S. 2 and 41 and across from the Off-Road Race Campgrounds.

The sale will include kitchen items, wall decor, mirrors, lamps, bedding, books, crafting supplies, seasonal decorations, collectibles, quilted hand-crafted wallets and cell phone holders, and many miscellaneous items. There will be no early sales.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid Readers will meet on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Jack’s Restaurant at 10 a.m. in Rapid River.

The novels “The Huntress” by K. Quinn, “The Great Leader” by J. Harrison, and “The House at the Edge of Night” by C. Bonner will be discussed.

October’s meeting will take place Thursday, Oct. 8 at Jack’s at 10 a.m. Members can submit suggestions for the future reading list via the club site or at the meeting.

Legion breakfasts to start Sept. 20

GLADSTONE — Sunday breakfasts at American Legion Post 71 in Gladstone will begin Sept. 20 and continue every third Sunday thereafter. Breakfasts will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.

Socially-distanced seating will be used and guests must wear a mask.
