ESCANABA — The Mickey Salmon Memorial Scholarship was awarded to four recipients by the Great Lakes Sports & Recreation Club in 2020. The recipients were Charles Tackman, Laura Sliva, Madison Block, and Sara Eilola.
The students are 2020 graduates and will be continuing their education this fall. The club wishes the students good luck with their future goals.
The Mickey Salmon Memorial Scholarship program began in 2012 and is dedicated to Salmon, who was a life-long member of the club. He volunteered much of his time to the organization and was particularly involved in youth activities.
The scholarship is offered to children or grandchildren of active club members. Each scholarship is for $400 and graduating high school seniors are eligible.
