Pulled pork sandwich sale set for June 28

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eskymo Varsity Hockey Team will be holding their annual pulled pork sandwich sale, Friday, June 28 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. at Elmer’s County Market.

For take-out orders, call or text 399-5924. Delivery from Eskymo hockey players is free.

All proceeds benefit the Escanaba Varsity Hockey Team. The Escanaba Eskymo Varsity Hockey Team is completely self-funded.

IXL Historical Museum birthday party June 23

HERMANSVILLE — The IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville will host its 137th birthday party June 23, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. CDT. Children under 10 are admitted free. The entrance fee will include live music and tours.

Birthday cupcakes and lemonade will be available for purchase. Money earned from this event will go towards roofing the IXL office building. Bring your lawn chairs, family, and friends, and spend the afternoon.

Day camp at the Historical Society

ESCANABA — The Delta County Historical Society will be presenting a hands-on children’s day camp for ages 7 to 9 on July 16 titled “A Child’s Life in Early Escanaba.”

A 19th century boxed lunch will be provided. Day camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applications for the day camp can be picked up at the museum between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is a cost to register. Checks are payable to The Delta County Historical Society and may be mailed to Ellie O’Donnell at 601 Ogden Avenue or dropped off at the museum.

Speaker tonight at East Ludington Gallery

ESCANABA — The East Ludington Gallery will continue its free lecture series into the new year. The lectures will be held the third Thursday of every month, except December, from 7 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 1007 Ludington Street and the public is welcome.

Tonight’s topic is creative writing and self-publishing. The speaker will be Molly Larsen.

Class of 1964 reunion

Legion opens library

RAPID RIVER — Walter W. Cole American Legion Post 301 in Rapid River has opened a library in the legion hall.

The library is free to all and is open from 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Service Officer Wednesday, as well as any other days that the hall is open to the public

Gladstone Class of 1979 reunion July 6

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Class of 1979 alumni will gather at the Gladstone Golf Course, 6514 Days River 24.5 Road, Gladstone, Saturday, July 6 at 5 p.m. for their 40th reunion. Croatian Golf Open

GLADSTONE — The 49th Annual Croatian Golf Open 9-hole event will be held on June 30 at the Irish Oaks Golf Course. Check-in starts at noon and golfing starts at 1 p.m. There is a cost for the golfing and meal.

The event is open to all persons of Croatian descent and their families. At least one member of the family must be of Croatian descent. Croatian chicken and povitica along with other menu items will be served.
