U.P. Tri-County MEA-Retired Group to meet

ESCANABA — U. P. Tri-County MEA-Retired Group will hold a meeting Tuesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. EDT (9 a.m. CDT) at the Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union, 2110 Third Avenue North, Escanaba. Please park in the back of the parking lot so the customers can have the front parking spaces.

Kay Walker-Telma, MEA-Retired Vice President will present an update. Any interested retired or current MEA members can attend.

Disc golf work bee planned for May 4

GLADSTONE — North Bluff Disc Golf Course will be holding a spring work bee, May 4 at 10 a.m. sponsored by the Noc Bay Flyers Disc Golf Club. Location is next to the North Bluff baseball fields in Gladstone.

Annual Bay Cliff ­fundraiser Thursday

RAPID RIVER — On Thursday, May 2, the Rapid River Lions Club will host a benefit for Bay Cliff Health Camp. Doors open at 5 p.m. In addition to dinner, there will be an auction and raffled. The public is welcome.

ESCANABA — The Friends of DATA will be holding a rummage sale on May 4, at the Willow Creek 2 Lounge, located 2414 8th Ave. S. Escanaba.

Lions Club breakfast

POWERS — The Powers-Spalding Lions Club will host their annual pancake breakfast and bake sale May 19. Serving will be from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the St. John Neumann Parish Hall.

The Lions will honor the North Central Senior class and their advisors with a free breakfast.

Birthday calendars may also be picked up at this time.

American Legion to meet Wednesday

FLAT ROCK — The monthly meeting of Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and the auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1.

Right to Life meeting set for May 7 at Bay

ESCANABA — Right to Life of Delta County will meet Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in Room 961 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College. Plans will be made for upcoming projects and events including the “Choose Life” outreach booth at the U.P. State Fair (Monday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Sept. 14), an August billboard, and the prayerful Life Chain to be held in Escanaba in October.

Croatian chicken dinner

GLADSTONE — Sons of the American Legion Squadron 71 is hosting a Croatian chicken dinner on Sunday, May 5 from 3 to 6 p.m. It will be held at the American Legion, 802 Delta Avenue, Gladstone.

The squadron asks guests call ahead and reserve their dinners, as there is a limited amount of chicken available. Call 906-428-1050 to reserve a meal.

Dinners may be taken out or eaten in the hall.

Senior line dancing

GLADSTONE — If you can walk, you can line dance. The Gladstone Senior Center hosts senior line dancing every Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

There are no fees, and you do not need to be a member of the Senior Center to participate.

Line dancing requires no partner or special equipment, and the center has a wide variety of musical genres.
