Elks dinner tonight

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks 354 will be serving their new Friday night menu from 5 to 8 p.m. Come down to the club to socialize, enjoy dinner and take a chance on the progressive card raffle. Members and guests welcome.

Stamp and Coin Club meets April 9 at Bay

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club is Monday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Joseph Heirman University Center, room 961 at Bay College.

Foster Grandparents set in-service for April 10

ESCANABA — The Delta County Foster Grandparent Program has an in-service meeting on Tuesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Escanaba Senior Center, 225 North 21 Street, Escanaba.

Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

The Foster Grandparent Program is administered by MDS Community Action Agency, 507 First Avenue North, Escanaba. Peggy Ramsden is the director and Donelle Robitaille, volunteer coordinator, can be reached at (906) 786-7080.

Sons of the American Legion set meeting

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Gladstone Sons of the American Legion Squadron 71 is April 12 at 7:30 p.m. The Sons meet at the American Legion, 802 Delta Ave., Gladstone.

Veterans Council plans meeting for Wednesday

ESCANABA — Delta County Veterans Council will hold its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Purple Heart Building, 1202 Sheridan Road.

Taco Tuesday hosted by Legion Post 71 returns

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to Taco Tuesday, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each week at the Gladstone Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave. Both hard and soft tacos are available, along with nachos and nachos supreme.

Amvets hold dance tonight in Escanaba

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123, located at 1315 North Lincoln Road in Escanaba, is featuring Classic Country Band from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight. Both veterans and the public, are welcome with a donation.

Bay de Noc Choral Society Spring Concert

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Choral Society is performing its annual spring concert Sunday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

The concert has free admission and a free will offering will be taken. This year’s program will feature American-composed works, gospel songs, hymns, and spirituals.

The highlight piece is a short cantata titled “They Call her Moses,” a work that was written to honor Harriet Tubman, a woman whose work to free slaves is well renowned.

All are invited to attend.

Hermansville Hustle

HERMANSVILLE — The North Central Chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting the annual Hermansville Hustle 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 28.
